Verse Of The Day

“What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.” (2 Timothy 1:13-14)  listen to chapter

New Church and Community Centre

For a long time we had this phrase on our mind and in our hearts :-

SEE the invisible, BELIEVE the incredible, RECEIVE the impossible”

For over a decade Old Roan Baptist church has had a vision to obtain a building from which to better serve the local community. In October 2008, after a lot of hard work and generous giving, this vision became a reality and we were able to obtain our own premises! We are so grateful to every person and organisation that has helped us to achieve this but mostly to God for making what seemed to be impossible - POSSIBLE!

We are now gradually transforming the interior into a space which will accommodate all our dreams and visions for the Aintree community. The first part of the transformation was completed in November 2009 and involved the Young people and Children in the church with the creation of a new Youth and Children's Centres.  If you would like to see photographs of our journey to the completed wings please click here to see 'before', 'during' and  'after' photos.

We now have a counselling room with availability of an accredited counsellor through Reach Counselling. We also hold a regular Coffee Morning for the community on the last Thursday of every month along with Parents and Tots on Tuesdays during term times. We provide a venue for after school club and conference facilities for those who wish to hire in our area.  We are looking forward to broadening our support to the wider community with further such activities as Crèche, Cafe, Circuit training and Luncheon Club.  All this as well as somewhere to meet on Sunday mornings.

We want to be available every day of the week for our community in Aintree Village. We want to be there and get involved. We want The Hope Centre to be a resource that will be available for all sectors of the community from the very young to the more advanced in years.

In short, our vision for our new building is for it to be a real “Community Centre”, accessible to all age groups for a multitude of activities – from the Physical to the Spiritual and emotional.
