Small Groups
Sundays can be 'busy' times at church and although you will be made very welcome on Sunday mornings, it can be very difficult in practical terms to really get to know you in such a short time every week.
That’s why we have Small Groups, which are an integral part of life at Old Roan Baptist Church. So ‘What is a small group then’? It’s an opportunity to meet with others who go to the church and get to know them better in a friendly and informal environment. We encourage everyone who comes on Sundays to become part of one of these groups which meet (usually) weekly in homes around the area. They’re called a ‘small group’ because we only have 8 – 12 people in each group, that way everyone can help and support each other in a ‘family type’ situation.
Here we learn to get to know and care for each other, as well as others who don’t come to our church. We study the Bible together and seek to encourage each other, sharing both the good and not so good things that we face in life. We also socialise together - going out for meals, bowling, to the cinema, etc.
